THE NEIGHBOURHOOD

A holidays lodging must be located in a commercial area. "Bonjour Paris" apartment is nearby all shops: bakeries, cheese shops, butchers, wine shops, florists, laundry, pharmacies... A large variety of products is proposed to you near the apartment: a supermarket opens its doors until 21h00.

As most french areas, the city of Paris organizes two open air markets near the apartment: Wednesday afternoon (from 3 PM to 8 PM) and Sunday mornings (from 8:30 AM to 13 PM).

Juste around the apartment parisian life also vibrates when crossing “court saint Emilion”, with its restaurants, shops and bars.

The Bercy village, "Cours Saint Emilion"

This district of Paris was rehability in the Eighties, built on the old site of the "wine storehouses", of the wine warehouses. With a charming open air shopping centre called “Bercy Village”, where one finds wine bars, restaurants and pleasant stores.

The park of Bercy

Completed in 1997, the park of Bercy is at the same time modern and charming. With its 13 hectares, it is one of the largest in Paris. Divided into topics, 9 areas of flowers sets of different themes, a romantic park with its philosophical garden (of which the arches come from the old market “Saint germain”). And for the sunny days, there is a terrace with sculptures of the whole world.

Museum of the French movies.

This French movie museum is not the first one but is the most important. Created by Henri Langlois, his purpose was to preserve, restore films and then rediscover forgotten realizers. He has never been capable to build the movies temple of his dreams during his life. September 2005 the ideal museum of Henri Langlois was completed by the famous American architect Frank O' Gerhy' S. there are a museum, a bookshop, research labs and obviously projection rooms.

The POPB ( Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy)

Each one knows the green and massive silhouette of the truncated pyramid which is the "POPB". The metal frame of the roof (of engineer Proven Jean) is supported by 4 enormous concrete posts: the authors wanted a monumental architecture. But it has been integrated into the district: thus the walls are tilted "to decrease the height visually" and covered with grass, to visually connect the room to the new Park of Bercy. Vast of 55.000 m2, the room can accomodate from 3.500 to 17.000 spectators in a flexible space adapted to almost all the sports, including nautical, as with all the types of spectacles.

Press speaking about Bercy

Finally of course, we couldn’t speak about the district without evoking the Météor line... to leave the district, nothing easier with the new entirely automated line 14. This driverless subway will enable you, in a few minutes, to join the heart of Paris (5mn from "Chatelet les Halles" a great Markets district, 8mn from the Louvre and 10mn from Garnier opera, Fauchon and Galleries Fayette).

Follow the map indications of the very good web site of the RATP. Once again we make a point to annonce that times are exact time because there are a subway every 2mn. therefore you will not have to wait 10 or 15mn between each subway. Moreover you won't have any strike, and in Paris this point must be noticed...
